Red River College’s recruitment team is dedicated to assisting future students, parents of future students, and school guidance counselors in discovering the many options that the College has to offer. The recruitment team conducts campus tours, attends career fairs, makes school visits to deliver information sessions, and holds an annual Open House event at RRC. Clint and Jennifer are available to answer questions and provide valuable insight about Red River College and its hundreds of educational offerings.
More About Jennifer (according to Clint):
I’d like to introduce you to my partner in crime, Jennifer Powell. She’s been working at Red River College as a Recruitment Officer for almost two years. She brings a lot of knowledge to her position with almost a decade of experience in sales, marketing, event planning and recruitment prior to her time at RRC. One of the jobs she held prior to working at RRC was working in the staffing industry helping people find jobs. She always talks about how she loved it when RRC grads came into her office looking for employment. She would say, “RRC grads were some of the best people to find work for, because of the hands on training RRC had provided them with during their studies and the fact that so many student graduate from RRC with work experience.”
One of the first experiences I had to really get to know Jen was on our first road trip to beautiful northern Manitoba. Little did I know…. but Jen has a real knack for singing in the car. You know when you’re driving to school or work you always see that one person in the car next to you belting it out at the top of their lungs….. Yeah that’s probably Jen in the car next to you. Enough said.
She is always up for the opportunity to help a student discover the many program options that RRC has to offer.
More About Clint (according to Jennifer):
Let me take a minute to tell you about my colleague Clint Thiessen. Anyone that knows him will confirm that he is a bit of a chatter box but honestly, it helps him do a great job in his role as Recruitment Officer because he loves to talk about Red River College and he’s full of knowledge. Clint is not new to Recruitment, he’s been living and breathing this profession for the last eight years, starting his career at Red River three years ago. Ask him about his 12 cats, it’s a rumor that a few of us in the office started, and it’s taken off.
Otherwise, Clint loves life on the road and enjoys having the opportunity to talk to students, parents and guidance counselors. I personally can relate to how great it is to feel like you have helped a student make a pretty important decision about their future.
