Red River College offers a range of in-house professional development and training programs for employees each year, driven by organizational strategy, interest and need.
Some workshops are delivered through Staff Learning and Development, while sessions others are coordinated or sponsored through specific departments and divisions, including the School of Indigenous Education, Teacher Education, Sustainability, Environmental Health and Safety, Diversity and Intercultural Services, Information Technology Solutions, Teaching Learning Technology Centre, and others.
No matter what stage of your career, there are professional development offerings for everyone.
Examples of workshops delivered in 2015-16 for all employees included:
- Mental Health First Aid Training (two-day course)St. John Ambulance – Standard First Aid Training (16 hour course)
- Working Effectively with Aboriginal People (two-day session)
- Teacher Essentials Program (five-day course)
- Athletics and Recreation Lunch and Learn Series (5 workshops)
- Financial Wellness (1 hour session delivered by HUB Strata)
- Pre-Retirement Information Session (3 hour session)
College-wide workshops are promoted in the All Staff News email. Registration for most workshops is located on the Employee Development registration page.
