Emergency Preparedness

RRC has a comprehensive emergency management program. Central to this program is the RRC Emergency Response Plan. The Plan outlines the policies and procedures for managing major incidents that may threaten the health and safety of students, staff and visitors to Red River College and its campuses or significantly disrupt college programs and activities.

Emergencies can occur at any time, without warning. Careful planning and continued training will result in a more effective, efficient and coordinated response to any emergency situation, as well as significantly enhance recovery efforts.

This Plan applies to a broad range of potential emergencies, including but not limited to severe weather, fires, explosions, hazardous materials release, extended power outages, incidents of violence, and other events impacting the life and safety of persons, facilities or the credibility of the Red River College. The Program also includes a Pandemic Influenza Plan and various hazard specific plans or protocols for dealing with potential incidents.
