Position: Head Coach Red River Rebels Men’s Soccer / Futsal Coach

Job Description:
Red River  College invites applications for Head Coach, Rebels Men’s Soccer / Futsal program, competing in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC). This is a part-time contract position in our Athletics and Recreation Services department, commencing May 2017 through March 2018. The MCAC competitive soccer season starts in early September, with training camp in late August, and finishes at the end of October. The Futsal competitive season starts in early January and finishes in early March.

Reporting to the Manager, Athletics and Recreation Services, the Head Coach oversees the organization, administration, and staffing of the Rebels Men’s Soccer / Futsal program. Responsible for all aspects of the collegiate Men’s Soccer / Futsal program from planning, to implementation and evaluation, the coach assumes a key role in the recruitment of student-athletes, team selection, practice and in-season planning/scheduling.  A full job description can be viewed on our website at rrc.ca/athletics.

JD-Men’s Soccer

Qualifications include:

  • Provincial B, working towards National B soccer coaching certification or significant soccer coaching and/or competitive experience.
  • Satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
  • Previous experience coaching post-secondary soccer athletes, or coaching soccer athletes at least sixteen years of age or older.
  • Previous experience with physical conditioning programs for the sport of soccer.
  • The ability to help recruit student-athletes and conduct soccer selection camps and ID camps.

Superior interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, leadership, coaching, and technical skills are also required.  Ability to coach during evenings and attend competitions (home & away) on weekends.  Must have an understanding of post secondary education and the MCAC.

A $5000 -$6000 honourarium will be offered for this position depending upon qualifications

  • NCCP Level 2 Certified or Advanced Development Coach trained under the new NCCP or significant volleyball coaching and/or competitive experience.

  • Previous experience coaching post-secondary volleyball athletes, or coaching volleyball athletes at least sixteen years of age or older.
  • Previous experience with physical conditioning programs for the sport of volleyball.
  • The ability to recruit student-athletes and conduct volleyball selection camps and ID camps.

Position: Certified Athletic Therapist(s) for Varsity Sport Program

The Red River College Rebels are seeking applications for a Certified Athletic Therapist(s). This is a paid contract position.  The Athletic Therapist(s) are responsible for the prevention, care, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries for the RRC Rebels Varsity Sport teams.

The RRC Rebels compete in basketball, futsal, soccer and volleyball in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) and Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC).   The season starts in early September and finishes in the middle of March.

There is an opportunity for this to be a shared position. There is an opportunity for additional clinical hours to service RRC staff and students.

Qualifications for the position are:

  • Must be a member in good standing with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) and Manitoba Athletic Therapists Association (MATA)
  • Previous experience treating post-secondary soccer, basketball, volleyball athletes.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends
  • Must be have a valid Manitoba drivers license
  • For therapist(s) who work with basketball must be able to cross the US/Canadian border

Event Staff

RRC Athletics and Recreation Services is seeking high-energy, organized individuals who will assist in the day-to-day operations of all home Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball and Futsal varsity events in addition to special department activities and Customer Service at the North Gym. All positions are casual and seasonal and are located on the Notre Dame Campus. You will have the opportunity to learn valuable leadership, organizational, communication and priority management skills that you will be able to transfer to all facets of your life.

Most shifts will take place on evenings and weekends.
