Rebels Weekend Wrap: Sept 16-17

The Rebels Men’s and Women’s soccer teams finished week two their Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference seasons with mixed results, with both teams playing a pair of game over Saturday and Sunday.

The women Rebels split their games, defeating the Providence University College Pilots on Saturday 2-0 with goalkepper Brittany Derkatz earning the shut out. Unfortunately the Rebels could not string two wins together, losing their home opener 2-0 to les Rouge from St.Boniface on Sunday. The Rebels enter week 3 of the MCAC with a 1-1-1 record.

The Rebels men’s team are still looking for an elusive first win of the season, losing the to the Pilots 2-1 on Saturday and shut out by the Les Rouges 2-0 on Sunday. Their record falls to 0-1-2 on the year.

Both teams travel to Brandon on Saturday to face the Assiniboine Community College Cougars, then return home to host the Brandon University College on Sunday, both games starting at 12 at the NK Fields at NDC.
