Samantha played her youth soccer in Flin Flon, MB. She played varsity soccer with Hapnot Collegiate in grades 9 and 10 before a family move to Winnipeg. She helped Hapnot qualify for the MHSAA Rural Championships both years, and was a Game MVP and key player in winning the Consolation final in grade 9. She received a school athletic award in grade 10.
In Winnipeg Samantha attended Fort Richmond Collegiate where she played varsity soccer and was a multi-sport athlete. She was selected Most Improved in Track and Field (100m/Long Jump) in grade 11, Athlete of the Week, and Player of the Game in the WYSA HS Indoor Championship game in 2017. She was her team’s leading scorer in grade 12. Samantha is graduating in 2017 with Honours (Cum Laude).
Samantha has played both full-back and striker in her high school career, positions where she could use her speed to great affect. Her high school coach Jordyn McBey describes Samantha as, “a hard working and coachable player who works well with her teammates and uses good ball control to get into scoring positions.”
Samantha will be entering the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing program at RRC this fall.
The Rebels will open their 2017 campaign with a pre-season tilt vs the Rebels Alumni on Sunday 27 August, 2:00 pm at RRC. Excitement around this first-ever contest is high and it should be a memorable clash between the cagy veterans and our next wave of Rebels.
