“Lindsey will be a great addition to the coaching staff here at RRC, and the athletes who are part of the program will have the opportunity to learn and play for an excellent coach,” said Shane Ray, manager of athletics and recreation services for Red River College.
Habib holds his Level 2 NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) and has been an active coach in the volleyball community for the past 10 years. Habib has served in various roles with the JV and Varsity boys at Miles Mac, most recently head coaching the JV Boys. During that span, the JV boys have been to the provincial finals four times winning twice. The varsity boys have gone to the AAAA final four every year including 2011 when they went undefeated on the season. Habib coaches club volleyball with WinMan where he has worked with 14U-17U Boys teams. Over the past 6 years Habib’s teams have won the provincial championship 5 times. They have also gone on to finish in the top 4 teams in the country each of those 5 years at Nationals. Most recently his 17U Boys team won a Provincial title and captured a National Silver medal. Habib has coached with Team Manitoba (16U boys) for the past few summers winning a Bronze medal at the NTCC competition (2015). Habib was just recently named the Volleyball Manitoba Elite development coach of the year (2017).

The Red River Rebels are the varsity sport teams of Red River College, and compete in the Manitoba College Athletic Conference (MCAC). The College fields teams in basketball (men and women), futsal (men and women), soccer (men and women) and volleyball (men and women).
