BUSINESS COUNCIL OF MANITOBA – ABORIGINAL STUDENT AWARDS CEREMONY

The Business Council of Manitoba held their Aboriginal Student Awards Ceremony on November 30, 2016 at the MET Centre in Winnipeg. Five of the students from the Peguis Fisher River Campus – Computer Applications for Business program, received a $2000 bursary award. Staff at the PFRC encourage students to apply to as many bursaries, awards and scholarships related to their program of study. One of the assignments students were asked to do in their Reading & Writing upgrading courses was to create an autobiography they could use when applying for various bursaries, awards and scholarship. As a result of this assignment students applied for the Business Council or Manitoba Award. The winners of the awards were: (L to R) Lisa Manningway, Michelle Sanderson, Noelle Hudson, Lyndel Sinclair and Steve Favel. Background Premier Pallister.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT CARPENTRY 5-MONTH CERTIFICATE

The RRC Peguis Fisher River Campus is still accepting application for the:

PRE-EMPLOYMENT CARPENTRY 5-MONTH CERTIFICATE

The Carpentry program provides you with knowledge of woodworking machines, blueprint reading and sketching, safe working practices and a familiarity with the materials and procedures needed to enter related occupations.

You will learn the safe and proper use of hand and power tools and woodworking machines. You will develop practical skills in framing, roofing, and surveying and have some exposure to concrete form construction.

The program is scheduled to start on January 9, 2017.  Classes will be Monday – Friday from 9 am. – 4 pm.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

PROJECT MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

This program will help you develop the critical project management skills you need to effectively manage programs or projects in a variety of complex environments. You will learn how to deliver projects on time and on budget. You will study a range of relevant subjects, including project planning, communication management, and quality control.

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is an international association of practitioners and professionals that subscribes to project management best practices. Information regarding PMI and the requirements for a professional certification (PMP) are covered through the program.

The certificate program is consistent with the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge. The program also provides you with the knowledge to write PMI’s professional examination.

Red River College is a PMI Global – Registered Educational Provider. The College is a 2010 and 2011 Gold Sponsor of PMI Manitoba and Title Sponsor of PMI Manitoba Professional Development Conference.

Program is scheduled to start January 9, 2017 and will be offered on Monday and Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm and on alternating Saturdays from 9 am. – 4 pm.
