The Information Security program will provide students with the theory and experience required to analyze, evaluate, manage and respond to today’s most complex information security issues. Students will learn the fundamentals of designing and analyzing robust personal, enterprise and web-based IT security systems. Students graduating from this program will be well positioned to enter into and succeed in the information security field in Manitoba and across North America.
This program is delivered at the Roblin Centre Campus on Princess Street. Students are eligible for their co-operative work experience or industry project after completing their first three academic terms.
Typical employment areas include both profit and non-profit organizations that use information systems as well as large and small information technology, telecommunications, and multimedia product and service providers. The Information Security post-graduate diploma program seeks to prepare students for careers among the following job titles:
- Information/Network Security Architects
- Information/Network Security Analysts
- Security System Designers
Successful completion of a certificate, diploma or degree related to Information Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution or 3 years of paid employment in an information technology related role.
Who Should Enroll?
This program has been designed for students wanting to prepare for an exciting career in information security (including network and web security) and protection. Prior education in an information technology related field is required, prior work experience in a related role is recommended.
