Indigenous Youth Summer Camp – Hands on Activity Week for Kids (HAWK)
We are pleased to announce 2017 will be the 8th annual Indigenous Youth camp – HAWK (Hands on Activity Week for Kids).
The 2017 HAWK Camp however, will be a bit different; we’ve modified the program to a 2-year cohort model – meaning the 12 students, ages 9-11 years old who participated in the 2016 camp will return for a week in July 2017, free of charge. We will also reconnect with our HAWK Alumni who attended the previous camp cohort the years of 2013-2015 to incorporate them in a new role as Youth Leaders/Mentors to further add to the experience of the HAWK Camp. Our goal is to advance their interest and comfort with RRC and expose them to as many program/career options as possible, while focusing largely on their self-esteem, self-identity, team building skills and cultural knowledge.
The 2017 HAWK Camp week is to be determined – further information will be posted in the New Year.
