Laboratory Technician – Part Time Term Position (1 year)

St. Claude, Manitoba

Parmalat is looking for a part time laboratory technician to work days, evenings, and weekends, as needed, as well as provide full-time relief for vacations and other absences for a period of one year.

Critical Success Factors:

Aseptic collection of line samples & finished product samples for microbiological & compositional testing.

 Microbiological & compositional testing of incoming ingredients.

 Preparation of detailed, accurate and legible records as may be required by management or government.

 Preparation of reagents, media and dilution bottles.

 Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on laboratory equipment

 Microbiological testing of environmental samples.

 Participation in check sample program to verify accuracy and reliability of your results.

 Must learn and use new procedures and knowledge when introduced.

 Maintenance of laboratory supplies inventory

Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:

Ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education in food sciences/microbiology/or a related discipline. Consideration will also be given to those individuals with a combination of relevant education & laboratory experience.

Qualified candidates must have strong organizational and communication skills, be computer literate and be able to work independently with precision and accuracy.
