Health Provider Courses/Programs-Student Entrance Requirements
The time frame to complete the required immunizations and testing may take up to seven months. It is highly recommended that you start and complete this requirement before applying to your chosen course/program in order to meet the 30-day deadline for submission.
Animal Health Technology-Student Rabies Vaccination
Rabies vaccination is administered free of charge by Health Services for pre-exposure protection. Health Services arranges scheduling for vaccination with the program. Students are required to read and sign the Rabies Pre-Exposure Vaccination Information Form and complete the top section and health history portion of the Manitoba Health Adult Immunization Record Form.
Students will need to bring both forms to their first appointment. Documentation is required for those who have been previously vaccinated.
Obtaining Immunization History
To assist with some of the information required for entrance requirements, for employment purposes or for your own reference please contact your local Regional Health Authority Office.
NEW for 2017 – Enhanced Health Services: One-step Mantoux testing
The 1 – step Mantoux appointments are now fully booked and new bookings will only be taken after the December closure.
For health provider students currently in program only
For those requiring an annual one-step Mantoux test, Health Services is now offering the test. This is only required for those whose last test was negative.
This is a fee based service and requires 2 appointments 48hr apart. The clinic is done on Tuesdays with the return visit on Thursdays to complete the test and individuals must be able to attend both appointments. There is a screening and consent form to be completed and confirmation of fee payment before the test is done. There are no walk-in appointments as we have to monitor use based on available test solution and expiry dates.
Please check your copy of your last test or contact your health provider for the date/result of your last Mantoux test.
Current fee is $40.00 that covers both visits. This is subject to change without notice.
