Settling in Manitoba

Each person’s experience of moving to Canada and settling in Manitoba is different. Newcomers may need to adapt to a new climate, wear different clothing, find housing, enhance language skills, understand College expectations in Canada, and learn about the local culture and how to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Sometimes newcomers may feel lonely, miss their home countries and families, or find it difficult to make new friends and engage in the local community.

Diversity and Intercultural Services offers a variety of programs and services to assist both international students and permanent residents to be successful in their integration into the local culture and the Canadian classroom and workplace, including advising, social and recreational activities, and access to local cultural attractions and volunteering opportunities.
