On April 14th 2015, Red River College’s Local Committee for the Student Refugee Program was part of the World University Services of Canada’s (WUSC) Local Committees of Manitoba who received the Lieutenant Governor’s Making a Difference in Community Award. The event was great and included awards to outstanding volunteers across the province.

Service Learning Coordinator, David Arenas from the University of Manitoba accepted the award on behalf of the Local Committees. Local Committees from the University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, Brandon University, University St. Boniface and Red River College received the award.

The evening was shared with College leadership, students, faculty and staff who have all come together to make this program possible.

On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27 and 28, second-year design students will gather at The Forks Market to create (and complete!) new pieces of art using a variety of materials and media.

Friday, February 27, 2015, 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 28, 2015, 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The students’ works will be available for public viewing 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, followed by an auction of the students’ works to support Winnipeg Harvest and the Red River College Graphic Design Students’ Graduation Fund.
