In March 2016, Fredrick Taylor, a 2014 graduate of RRC’s Greenspace Management program passed away from Glioblastoma Multiforma cancer at the age of 25. Fred had a passion for plants and nature and had recently started a company that uses an all natural approach to remove toxins from our soils while adding microbiology back in to create healthier soils and landscapes.
To memorialize Fred, and the unique qualities that defined him, Fred’s family and friends have established an endowment fund to support a lasting legacy in his honour. The Frederick David Taylor IV Memorial Award for Greenspace Horticulture Diploma Students recognizes students for their commitment to the environment and sustainable horticultural practices along with exemplary teamwork and leadership in the classroom. A fitting tribute to the memory of an exceptional young man.
