Enhance your administrative and technical skills to meet the demands of the current and emerging office environment. Become knowledgeable in business office software, administrative procedures, communication, teamwork, event planning and problem solving.
Start in September or February to be career-ready in 17 weeks.
Prepare for a career working with students in educational settings under a teacher’s direction. Study and explore the developmental needs of children, as well as the instructional strategies to meet those needs. Gain hands-on experience through the program’s practicum component. Start in August or November to be career-ready in six months.
Gain the basic skills required for property and casualty insurance sales, claim adjusting, underwriting and risk management.
Start in August to be career-ready in 11 months.
Health Unit Clerk
Attain the knowledge and skills to function as part of the health-care team. Learn the roles and responsibilities of a health unit clerk, which include handling patient and unit records, and processing physician orders, diagnostic and laboratory orders. You’ll also gain hands-on experience through the program’s practicum component.
Start in February or August to be career-ready in four months.
Develop the skills needed for effective performance in an entry-level administration position in a legal setting. Learn to prepare legal documentation for real estate, civil litigation, wills and estates, family law, and business. You’ll also gain hands-on experience through the program’s practicum component.
Start in July and be career-ready in 11 months.
Medical Device Reprocessing Technician
Gain the knowledge and technical skills required to provide support to all patient care services in hospitals and clinical settings. Learn the theory and get practical experience related to decontamination, cleaning, processing, assembly, sterilization, storage and distribution of medical devices and supplies within a quality assurance framework. Be career-ready in four months.
Occupational Health and Safety
Through a multi-disciplinary approach, acquire the knowledge, skills and principles to prepare for or advance a career as an occupational health and safety practitioner. You’ll also gain hands-on experience through the program’s work experience component. Start in October and be career-ready in eight months.
Power Engineering 5th Class
Gain the knowledge and skills required to operate and maintain boilers and related mechanical equipment to provide utilities such as light, heat, climate control or power for buildings and industrial processes. This is the only provincial program that provides Advanced Status through the Office of the Fire Commissioner. You’ll be fully trained and qualified to take your certifying exams through the Office. Start in January and be career-ready in 17 weeks.
Gain the knowledge and skills required to develop technical and creative aspects of digital imaging and processing. Acquire skills in digital image manipulation, lighting, SLR operation, exposure, composition, printing, editing, retouching and processing, as well as foundational business skills. Start in August and be career-ready in eight months.
Gain the knowledge and skills to work in the railway industry as part of a train crew in either road or yard service. Learn about switching and marshalling cars, transporting dangerous goods, performing inspections, copying authorities and keeping records – all within the context of the Canadian Rail Operating Rules and Railway General Operating Instructions. You’ll also gain hands-on experience through the program’s practicum component. Start in January or September and be career-ready in 15 weeks.
Acquire the skills to successfully manage decorating projects to improve home spaces. Learn to apply design principles to enhance the function and quality of both interior and exterior living environments. Gain the skills to analyze your clients’ decorating needs for development of furniture floor plans, product purchases and installation arrangements. Start in January or July and be career-ready in four months.
Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults
Prepare for career opportunities in recreational programming and services for older adults. Learn how to design, implement and evaluate effective programs for clientele in various settings, including: personal care homes, extended hospital care, adult day care and other community-based programs. You’ll also gain hands-on experience through the program’s practicum component. Start in September and be career-ready in nine months.
