Transfer Credit

What is Transfer Credit?

Transfer credit is one type of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process at Red River College.

Transfer credit is the recognition of credit for courses or programs completed at another recognized post-secondary institution or in another Red River College program.

Transfer credits are given when the learning meets the standards required by the program in which the credit is sought. The course(s) must have been of equivalent credit hours and with equivalent learning outcomes or course content.

Who should apply?

Any student who has previous courses from another recognized post-secondary institution or a previous RRC program that may be equivalent to RRC courses.

You must be registered in an RRC program prior to formally requesting transfer of credit. Once you are registered, you can then submit the Transfer Credit Request Form, along with any applicable payment and course information.

Please apply for transfer credit as soon as possible and prior to your program start date.

If you have credits from another recognized post-secondary institution or a previous RRC program that you want to transfer, please review the Guide to Complete the Transfer Credit Request Form before submitting the Transfer Credit Request Form.
