Red River College provides workshops and courses on how to develop and effectively use portfolios for a variety of purposes. Participants work through the process of portfolio development and produce a portfolio for personal growth, career development/ professional purposes or for providing evidence of prior learning for post secondary courses/programs. All courses include an introduction to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Courses maybe completed for credit in a number of college programs or for audit purposes.
Professional Portfolio Workshop Series (16- 20 hours)
This series of workshops is designed for those who are graduating from a College/post secondary program or who need a professional portfolio for entering or moving forward in a chosen career! Through the workshops, you collect documentation/evidence of learning, set goals, document learning (knowledge, skills and abilities) in a skills inventory, and compile a finished professional portfolio. You also acquire effective strategies for using your portfolio in an interview and other employment situations!
Train the Trainer-Professional Portfolio Development Course (30 hours)
Do you currently work with clients who could benefit from a professional portfolio? Do you teach in a College Program where “soon to be” graduates could use a professional portfolio as they enter their chosen career? Do you want to acquire skills in professional portfolio development and facilitation? RRC is offering an exciting opportunity for you to learn about the development of a professional portfolio and the strategies for group facilitation of the portfolio development process. In this 30 hour course, you will develop your own professional portfolio and learn key strategies to facilitate professional portfolio development with learners/clients. This course is a credit course in the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Practitioner Certificate program.
